English and Humanities courses available are Freshman Composition (Comp. I and II), American Literature, British Literature, World Literature, Film as Literature, and Creative Writing. Most majors require Comp. I, Comp. II, and at least one literature class; other classes that are not in the student’s core can be taken as electives. Two Philosophy and Bible courses are also offered: Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey.

College Prep English, Life Skills, and Education courses prepare students for college-level English, study skills, and job skills.  In addition, the department offers courses that will lead to a 4-year university with majors in Elementary Education and Secondary Education.
